A L L E R T O N The immigrant ancestor of this line of descent in America was ISAAC ALLERTON, at Plymouth, N.E., aboard “Mayflower” 1620. While he was a “Saint” rather than a “Stranger”, he was eventually forced out of the colony because of questionable business transactions. He went to Marblehead, MA., New Amsterdam, NY, and died at New London, CT., in an insolvent state.

The immigrant ancestor of this line of descent in America was JAMES COLE, mariner, of Highgate, London, England. At Saco, Mass., 1632 (now Maine) hence Plymouth, New England, where he became the first innkeeper. His wife was daughter of French botanist for whom Lobellia was named.
