MOSER / MOSHER

Research by: MURRAY MOSHER(deceased), Liverpool, Nova ScotiaI. The first known of this family, spelled MOSER on his documents, began with JACOBB. MOSER,  ca. 1711-1768, blacksmith, originating from Switzerland and settling at  Kingsburg, Lunenburg County in 1771. His spouse, ANNA MARIA JULIANNA,  1714-8 April 1784, was a midwife in Lunenburg in 1764.

II. Jacob and Julianna Moser had a family of nine children:  JACOB, Jr.; 2. HENRY (1740-1805) married 1769 Johanna Hertlin, Died 1805; 3. JUDITH, born 1754, mar. 1772 Gotlieb Keltzer; 4. SAMUEL (1735-1808) mar. 1762 Ann Margaret Keltzer; 5. MATHIAS (1753-1834) mar. (1) 1771 Catherine Reinhard (1755-1786) and (2) Mary Eve Herman; 6. MARGARETA, born 1741, mar. 1759 George Isenhoffer; 7. CATHERINE mar 1791 John Thomas; 8. ANNA MARIA.

II JACOB MOSHER JR.(1740-1792), born in Switzerland, lived at Kingsburg and Mosher’s Point. He mar. (1) 23 Nov 1763, REGINA MAGDALENE HARNISH, died 1794; mar. (2) 1794 CATHERINE KEISNER, 1748-1829.

Jacob Mosher Jr. bought Mosher’s Point from Joshua Mauger. In 1753. The property was known as “Waite’s Farm”. His first wife, Regina Harnish, came over on the Gale in 1751.

III. Jacob Mosher Jr. and his wife Regina had eleven children:- 1. JOHN GOTLIEB, 1766-1786; 2. HENRY MATHIAS, born 1769; FREDERICK born 1768, mar. Elizabeth Barbara Himmelman; 4. JOHN JACOB, born 1772, mar. (1) Regina Charlotte Mossman and (2) 1794 Cathy _____; 5. CATHERINE, born 1773, mar. 1793 John M. Hirtle; 6. JOHN, born 1777, mar. 1794 Catherin Creaser; 7. SALOME, born 1779, mar. 1817, Thomas Renold; 8. ANN MAGDELIN, born 1781, mar. 1795 John Henry Koch; 9. DAVID, 1785-1872, mar. 1809, Ann Barbara Spindler;  10. CHARLOTTE 1787-1791; 11. ANN ELIZABETH , born 1776, mar. 20 Mar 1797 Johann Myrer.

IV. JOHN MOSHER, ca. 1777-1836, Mosher’s Point, was lost at sea. He married 7 April 1804  Mary Catherine Creaser, were parents of twelve children. [NOTE: Murray Mosher lists the wife’s name as Mary Catherine Creaser (Keddy?) – a possible second marriage]. 1. JOHN, born 1799; 2. DAVID, born 1805-1829; 3. ANN BARBARA, born 1813; 4. GOTLIEB, born 1810, mar. 1815 Elizabeth Silver; 5. ANN MARIA, born 1813; 6. ANN SARAH, born 1815; 7. ANN RACHEL, born 1818; 8. JACOB, born 1820, mar. (1) Driscilla Mossman and (2) Elizabeth Mosher of Frederick; 9. JEREMIAH, twin, born 1820, mar. _____ Rompkey; 10. MICHAEL H., 1823-1827; 11. SIMEON, died unmarried from gunshot wounds; 12. CATHERINE MARGARET, born 1825, mar. DAVID RHODENIZER.

  1. HI, I NEED HELP IN FINDING SARAH ANN MOSER WHO MARRIED WM WILSON IN 1845. IN 1871 SAID HE WAS A WIDOWER,I ONLY GOT NAME OF THEIR CHILDREN HENRY,ELIZA,JANE, I DO NOT KNOW SARAH BIRTH OR WHERE SHE CAME FROM OR HER PARENT. HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP. THANK YOU
